Reconciliation Was Faked! Best Friends Shahid Kapoor & Madhu Mantena Don’t Talk
Once inseparable Shahid and Madhu have drifted apart. Don’t go by contradictory reports of the past few months
Shahid Kapoor and Madhu Mantena had famously fallen out soon after the debacle of Shaandaar (2015) which featured the actor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles and was produced by Phantom Films (of which Madhu is a member) and Dharma Productions.
Buzz was that as a consequence of Shaandaar’s dismal performance at the box-office, Shahid had stalled Mantena's next film with him SK Vs AK, which Vikramaditya Motwane was directing.
However, soon after, the duo, for old time’s sake, decided to give their friendship another chance and begin afresh. Now, SpotboyE.com has it that, as things stand today, the picture is far from rosy.

Says a source, “They met up several times after their relationship soured in 2015 and tried to resolve their issues. But things weren’t the same. They couldn’t begin from where they had left off.”
We have learnt that while things were heading nowhere personally, Shahid-Madhu have parted ways professionally as well and don’t talk at all.
It all began post the release of Udta Punjab (2016) which was applauded by audiences and critics alike. However, Shahid, who is managed by Madhu’s talent agency –CAA KWAN – felt that despite being complimented for his acting chops and considerable popularity amongst the youth, he wasn’t able to pocket endorsement deals like his contemporaries Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra to name a few.
Madhu too was at a loss because Shahid’s ad deals would benefit him and his company as well. Thus, a few days ago, Shahid decided to call off his professional relationship with Madhu.
The duo recently met at Mandana Karimi and Gaurav Gupta’s wedding party, but didn’t exchange a word. In fact, their changed equation became the hot topic of discussion at the do.

In January too Shahid and Madhu were together when Team Rangoon was celebrating the response to the film’s trailer. However, they preferred to stay in their respective corners.
So what about their better halves – Mira Rajput and Masaba Gupta?
“Well, they are fine if they meet at social gatherings but neither takes an initiative to inquire about each other’s well being,” adds the source.
Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, “The only thing that is constant is change.”
We couldn’t agree more.
